FORD GREEN HOUSE

This is the building Cruzitas Art Gallery and Louis LeRoy's studio was located in. Ford Green designed and constructed this home in 1945. He was a photographer and a student of Mexican history. His studio and dark room are on the North end of the building. He resided with his wife, Frances and daughter, Angilee in the Southern section of the building.

Ford traveled extensively throughout Mexico and incorporated the "Mexican Style" into the design of the building. The house is 100 feet long and 35 feet wide. It has an enclosed courtyard which can be seen through the large picture window in the kitchen. Ford was born and raised in the "Valley" of South Texas and passed away in 1988 leaving the building to his daughter, Angilee Sheldon. She sold the property to Louis LeRoy in 1990.

Louis sold the property in 2003 and moved to Yuma, Arizona.

The house today.
