       Louis began his art career by obtaining 9 Gold Key Scholastic Art Awards 1957-59 while at Yuma Union High School. He obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Arizona and since 1974 has been an active arts administrator. In 1998 he authored the book, "How To Make Money For Your Organization". He conducts workshops and is a key-note speaker on the subject of earned income for the nonprofit organization. Louis is currently a painter who works in acrylics, oils & watercolor, and has recently become an internet web designer.   Louis has two phases he is now working on, "Chicano" images, icons and his "Abstracts". His abstracts can be seen Abstract Gallery and his Chicano work in the Southwest Gallery.

  • 1979-83 S.W. Regional Representative - National Endowment for the Arts. 
  • 1983-87 Executive Director of the Arts Council of San Antonio.
  • 1987-92 Full time artist in San Antonio.
  • 1992-97 Executive Director of the Association of American Cultures.
  • 1997-02 The Arts Coalition, (ArtCo).
  • 2001-02 Association of American Cultures (TAAC)
  • 2002-02 Executive Director, Yuma Fine Arts
